The place of the Hotel “Oktiabrskaya” in the city is Pl.Vosstania – the Uprising Square, so the theme is quite familiar for the staff of the hotel. The participants of the event listened to the reports about the potential decisions of the problems connected with the transportation junction (Pl. Vosstania - the Uprising Square) & about the perspective ways of the development of adjoining territories. In the Grand Conference Hall of our Hotel on the 20th of June, 2011 the seminar “The certification system of the welded works – 2011” was held. The event was organized by the National Agency of the Welded Works Control. The participants were 137 certification centers directors, welded works specialists from 57 industrial regions of Russia. During a dynamic work of the reporters from the Academy of scientists, specialists from the LtD “Gazprom” & the participants themselves a lot of sharp themes of the brunch were analyzed & the standards of the certification system were formulated.

The annual conference of the secretaries & the executive clerks, this year it is the XIV-th one, was held in the Grand Conference Hall on June 4, 2011. In the frames of the conference there was the exhibition: “Office Fashion Show”. 196 persons visited the event. They were from St-Petersburg, Leningrad region, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Togliatti & Gubkin. The organizer of the conference was “Ñåêðåò@ðü.RU”, & the general sponsor was “TM Berlingo”. All the guests were presented gifts from “TM Berlingo”, “TM Brauberg”, “TM Litz”. According to the exhibitors comments all the goods caused jazzy interest among the guests. During the business part of event the series of reports were done. After the break some competition, master-classes & lottery were organized. The end of the conference passed off in the unconcerned atmosphere.
Seminar of the Joint-Stock Company “VINGS-M NEVA”(24-May-2011)
In the Grand Conference Hall of the Hotel “Oktiabrskaya” on May 24, 2011 there was a seminar on the theme: “The fire-protection valve plugs of the ventilation system & antismoke proofing”. Seminar was attended by 165 persons. The chief fire protection specialist V.N.Timoshenko made the report: “The fire-protection valve plugs”. On the 10-th of May, 2011 in the Kaminniy Conference Hall of the Hotel “Oktiabrskaya” the seminar for law activity trainees started. The lessons were held since May, 10 till May, 13 & since May, 16 till May, 18. They were organized by the Law Education Commission of the Law Chamber of St-Petersburg. On the 11th of April, 2011 in the Petrovskiy Conference Hall of the Hotel “Oktiabrskaya” the regular seminar of “The Nevskiy Consultant” was held. The subject of the seminar sounds: “The actual questions of the tax on profits calculation & VAT”. The lecturer Tatiana Ivchenko touched on the problems connected with the shaping tax base, export - imported dealing VAT, alteration in tax declarations & arbitration practice. The participants of the seminars had the possibility to ask questions & have consultations individually. Month later, on the 12th of May, 2011 in the Blue Conference Hall there was a seminar called: «Tax risks and tax safety». The lecturer was the president of «The Center of Tax Analysis and Audit», M.Mukhin. The seminars of this company are scheduled in the Hotel “Oktiabrskaya” until December, 2011.

There was a traditional seminar of “LEGO” Company for it's partners in the north-west district on the 23rd of March, 2011 in the Grand Conference Hall. Such kind of seminars annually are held in six cities of Russia. The VIII-th International Conference «Waste Products Recycling»(03-Mar-2011)
The VIII International Conference devoted to the waste recycling was organized in a period from March 1 to March 3, 2011 in the Grand Conference Hall of our Hotel. The initiator of that event became the All-Russian Magazine «Waste Products Recycling» powered by the Plenipotentiary Representation of President of Russia in the North-West Federal District and with the assistance of the Association of Waste Products Recycling and the Trans-Regional Industrial Corporation «The Ekorecycling». In that conference about 100 representatives from 36 companies, 13 mass-media companies, 12 state enterprises, institutions, researching centers & 12 municipal, administrative, region government agencies took part. The geography of the conference covered 33 cities of Russia, Ukraine and Germany. As a result of that three-days arrangement was a consummation of it's original aim — a providing of assistance for participants of originating enterprise - Waste Products Recycling in an information sharing and an establishment of direct contacts for fruitful cooperation.

On November 19, 2010 the International Summit “Women – the Economical & Political Leaders” was held as a part of the XVII annual International Conference "Ladies, changing the world" in the Hotel “Oktiabrskaya”. That event was organized as usual by St-Petersburg Social-Economical Institute in consort with St-Petersburg Government. Traditionally that affair took place in the conference halls of the Hotel. This year seminars: “Supporting of business activity: an innovating solution”, “Women's potential for social-economical development of St-Petersburg”, “Social safety and gender equality”, “A Woman and her social position: point of view for problems of health and demography“ etc. were held in the Grand, Blue, Kaminniy and the Small Conference Halls. The Grand Conference Hall also was used for the Exhibition–Presentation named “A Woman's Project”. Many companies were represented on the Exhibition. Finally in the Petrovskiy Conference Hall there was a fourchette for Summit's participants. These days became real festival for the ladies.

On the 15th of October, 2010 in our Grand Conference Hall “Smi)e” Company held the presentation for it's potential business–companions. This company has been working in St-Petersburg since 2007 year. During this period lucky beggars, who got the gifts from “Smi)e”, enjoyed more than 50 000 impressions. “Smi)e” is a festive box with the ticket (gift certificate) for receiving one or more impressions, feelings. On the 7-th of September, 2010 "LEGO" Company held it's traditional seminar for the north-western region retail trade in the Grand Conference Hall of our Hotel "Oktiabrskaya". That workshop was attended by more than 120 guests from St-Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Novgorod the Great & Vyborg. The successes of the Company in 2010 year were illustrated during that seminar. The guests knew a lot about newly created series of Company products, "Hero Factory", for example, & absolutly new line of the table games combining erector set & the game itself. The event participants got aquintance with the product proposal specialities of the second semester & then the detailed marketing plan according to the main courses was presented in order to support the trade of the coming season.

The last lesson of this summer series of trainings was held on the 27th of August, 2010. The Seminar "Workers' migration"(26-Aug-2010)
Next time the seminar "Workers' migration" was held in the Grand Conference Hall. The initiators of this event were St-Petersburg Committee of legality & security together with the Federal Migration Service & touristic company "Absolute".
The aim of the seminar, which was organized on August 26, 2010, was improving of cooperation between the St-Petersburg executive government authorities, public migration authorities and the companies - recruiters, who hire foreign citizens. The general number of the participants was 200, among them - the managers of the organizations & enterprises, specialists of staff departments, Legal Law Practice companies & other services, which whip & use the labour of foreigners. Today in Russian Federation there is more than 20% of the foreign manpower & the necessity of it is growing permanently. Unfortunately, the process of attracting foreign citizens to the labour is time-consuming process, demanding the observance of the Russian Federation migration legality. This problem is not yet given coverage to mass media and this fact leads to the illegal usage of the foreign manpower. Such seminars are devoted to change the situation. The third one will be in November 2010, according to the plan, on the base of Hotel "Oktiabrskaya".
The Conference of "ETM" Company(30-Jul-2010)
On the 30-th of July, 2010 in the Grand Conference Hall there was the Trade Company “ETM” conference devoted to the results of the half-year period of work. The participants of that event were the top-managers of the company, the leaders of the different branches, the total number was 70 persons. During the Conference the general strategy of the further development of the company was discussed.
The main task of the Trade Company “ETM” is making electrical equipment obtainable for any kind of consumers. The “ETM” Company was created in 1991. The VI annual seminar of the Horse Riding School, organized by Alexander Nevzorov and the Company "Nevzorov Haute Ecole", was held again in the Petrovskiy Conference Hall on July, 24 and 25, 2010. The programme of that seminar was very interesting as usual and many themes of a modern science about horses were included. Many reports were made by the students of the Horse Riding School and by the experts, such as: "The Mechanism of a Horse's Behavior from Position of the Functional Systemes' Theory", "A Shock", "A Medicine Chest of a Horse. The I-st International Seminar on the procedure of the enquiry of the acts of crime against minors was held in the Grand Conference Hall of “Oktiabrskaya” Hotel from June, 23 till June, 25.The officers of the International Center of the assistance in cases of the infant loss & exploitation together with the members of the Investigative Committee at the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation held the first International seminar on the procedure of the investigation of the acts of crimes against minors. Initiator of this event is the External Relations' Committee of St-Petersburg Administration. The problems, the seminar concerned, are of high important. The competent solution of these questions is realy vital for both: West society & Russia. The event started with the speeches of the representatives of St-Petersburg Administration, Director of the International Center of the assistance in cases of the infant loss & exploitation, Mrs.Maura Harty, Russian Federation ombudsman, Pavel Astakhov & etc. Three days were devoted to the exchange of experience between the investigators from Russia & America, that is the Internet-investigation of the crimes against minors, documents & summary processing, proving one' identity, examinations & so on. The results of these meetings could hardly be overestimated.
The XII Russian National Conference of secretaries & executives(29-May-2010)
On May 29, 2010 in the Grand Conference Hall of the Hotel "Oktiabrskaya" there was the XII Russian National Conference of secretaries & executives, organized by the inforportal "Secretary.Ru" (www.secretary.net). 192 professionals from Moscow, St-Petersburg & other cities of Russia took part in the event. The exhibition "Office Fashion Show" turned to a part of the conference.
During breakes the exhibition stands of the companies "Regent-Office" & "Berlingo" were simply attacked by the participants. Besides, the participants tried to master in the art of origami. The bright flowers made of the office paper, impressed much.
The XIV Multidisciplinary International Conference on Neuroscience & Biological Psychiatry "Stress & Behavior"(16-May-2010)
On May 16, 2010 the annual International Conference of the mental science & biological psychiatria "Stress & Behavior - ISBS Congress" started in the Grand Conference Hall. The initiator of the three-days ñonference, as usual, was the Centre for Physiology & Biochemical Research (CPBR), which is headed by our loyal guest of honor, Mr.Alan Kaluev. This Multidisciplinary International Conference "Stress & Behavior" was dedicated to 120-th anniversary of the Institute of Experimental Medicine (IEM RAMS). The scientists: phisiologists, biochemists, mental specialists from different countries took part in the conference.

The second International Conference "Osteopathy and White Nights 2010"(07-May-2010)
The second International Conference "Osteopathy and White Nights 2010", organized by The Russian Academy of Osteopathy, has started again in the Grand Conference Hall on the 7th of May, 2010. Now the Conference named "THE ART OF OSTEOPATHY". During the following days since the 8th to the 10th of May the theoretical and practical seminars were held under leadership of our foreign guests, experts of the osteopathy, in the Petrovskiy Conference Hall, the Kaminniy Hall and the Green Conference Hall. There are just some themes of those meetings: "How to diagnose and treat a Child from a biodynamic osteopathic view" (Thomas Esser, Germany), "Emotional Integration in Osteopathy: new approaches" (Bruno Ducoux, France), "Simply knowing the science does not make the artist" John Wernham. The Practice of Body Adjustment" (Zara Van Herbert, UK) and so on. The Museum of Osteopathy was organized and opened during fore days in the Meeting Room Number 1 on the second floor of the Hotel. It was visited by many Russian and foreign experts in that field. The organizing of Annual International Osteopathy Conference on the base of the "Oktiabrskaya" Hotel became the good tradition. We are proud of this trust and hope on the mutual cooperation in the future.
Russian National Conference "Supported living"(26-Apr-2010)
In the Petrovskiy Conference Hall, during a period from April 26 to April 30, 2010 the Social School "CARITAS" held the Russian national conference "Supported living". The conference was organized for the first time in the hotel. There were 50 participants, who were the representatives of 30 state & non-state organizations from 13 cities, regions & outskirts of Russia.
During this event different models & forms of supported living for disable persons were presented: apartments for studying & permanent living, the charge house & the center of social rehabilitation, social villages.
The participants shared with their experience, discussed the problems & perspectives of the supported living.
Mr.Mishel Obri, the French General Consul in St-Petersburg, took part in the conference. He told about the actings, that are performed for the disable persons in France in order they live in good conditions & about his own experience in that field.
Auditorium displayed the great interest to the speeches of St-Petersburg & Vladimir lawyers on the matter of the legislation of the suppoted living & keeping. There were no half-hearted on the event. Each presentation & speech were attended with the violent discussions. The conference showed the relevance & the opportuneness of the supported living in Russia.
As a result, all the participants of the conference expressed the will to continue such meetings, the aim of which is to solve the problems emerged in the new deal for Russia, like the organization of the supported living for the disable persons.
DAINA trade mark Corset underwear defile (22-Jan-2010)
Unusual event was held in the Grand Hall on January, 22. The interested audience was attracted by the corset underwear defile of the “DAINA” trade mark. The Grand Hall suddenly was transformed into the fashion podium. The two underwear catalogues shows, providing with a singer & a dance group were performed befor the event guests. Drawings of lottery & presents were handed over in the atmosphere of holiday. Champagne was a pleasant surprise for the guests & finished this secular affair.
Professional Development & Ethics School for the Young Journalists(13-Dec-2009)
The second course of seminars for the young journalists (Professional Development & Ethics School) was held in the Grand Conference Hall and the Petrovskiy Conference Hall of the Hotel "Oktiabrskaya" on December 11, 12, 13. Seminars were devoted to the problems of ethics & values of journalist's profession. The first cycle of these seminars was drived in Moscow. The project was commenced by Alina Kabaeva – the State Duma deputy chairman in the Youth Affairs. 100 journalists from 43 regions of Russia took part in this event.
Seminars' experts in Saint-Petersburg were: Sergey Brilev – the TV-channel “Russia” deputy chairman of special informative projects, Andrew Kolesnikov – special correspondent of the “Merchant” newspaper, Alexey Levinson – the leader of the socio-cultural reserching of “Levada-Center”, Alexander Aliev – the web-chief redactor of the newspaper “Izvestia”, Alexsey Abakumov – the Ren TV chief redactor.
XVI International Conference "Ladies, changing the world"(20-Nov-2009)
November 20-21, 2009 – the days of XVI International Conference annually organized by St-Petersburg Social-Economical Institute in consort with St-Petersburg Government.
Traditionally this affair is drived in the conference halls of the Hotel. This year seminars: “Lady's leadership: the dilogue of generations”, “Ladies & actual marketing”, “Crises as opportunity”, “Youth forum “ were held in the Blue Conference Hall, the Kaminniy Hall, the Petrovskiy Conference Hall and the Small Conference Hall.
The Grand Hall was used for the Exibition as usual. More than 50 companies were represented on the Exibition. These days became real festival for the ladies.

The annual medical conference “Omron medical technic at human needs” was held on October 29 in the Grand Conference Hall. More than 200 delegates of the city's pharmacies attended the event.
